SUMMARY

The Nomad Residence Permit enables holders to retain their current employment based in another country whilst legally residing in Malta.

Digital Nomads who want to live and work from Malta for up to 180 days will be given a National Visa, while individuals who want to relocate to Malta for a minimum of 365 days or more would be given a nomad residence permit . The Nomad Permit is a visa and route to residency & subsequently citizenship

  • It is issued for a one (1) year tenor and can be renewed upon application at the Residency Malta.
  • Applicants must prove that they can work remotely, using Telecoms and be third world countries nationals.
  • As a holder of a nomadic resident permit, one would not be subject to Personal Income Tax as it is believed that one is being taxed in the country of origin. However, one would be subject to excise duty tax like all Maltese residents.
  • Access to national health services.
  • Processing time for you & your family within three ( 3 ) months.
  • Performance of any work activity as an independent professional.
  • Persons under the age of 21 may attend schools.
  • Travel freely in & out of Malta.
  • Be a citizen of a third world country.
  • Offer letter of employment which shows employment outside Malta.
  • Proof of Income & accommodation.
  • Have a monthly income of €2,700.
  • Be a partner of a company registered outside Malta.
  • Consultant offering freelancing or consultancy services to non-Maltese citizens.
